Okay, since we claim to be such an outdoorsy family I thought I should post something to back up such claims. Steve had a great winter and he was kind enough to include us at times. We went skiing at Brighton, Grand Targhee and Kelly Canyon. I even let him take the kids out of school so that they could take advantage the two for one Tuesday at Grand Targhee.
The next week he took the kids on their annual snow camping trip with the Bateman boys.
Then the next week he went backcountry skiing and camping in Grand Teton NP with his friends. The only problem is that is snowed about 18" on them during the two days which made for some slow going. 
I went skiing at Brighton and once at Kelly's and then was on limited activity for the rest of the season. I'm not complaining though because I don't winter camp ( not yet at least, Steve is still working on it. )
So, there are certainly families who spend more time outdoors, but we try to get in a dose or two every so often.
